Homemade Paneer

Paneer is Indian cottage cheese! You can make it fresh with milk and eat it by itself or sauteƩ it or add it in gravy.

Serves: 4 people. Cook Time: 10 minutes. Prep time: 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups of 2% milk
  • 3 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice

The Process:

1. Boil the milk in a bowl using the microwave. Our microwave ran for 9 minutes, but other microwaves might use different intensities.

2. When the milk comes to boil, add the vinegar. Let it curdle and stir it once. If it doesn’t curdle, then put it in the microwave for another 30 seconds. Be very careful to not let the milk overflow during this process.

3. Sieve the curdled milk. Let the water fully drain for 30 minutes.

4. Once it is fully sieved, you can cut it into cubes. Use it fresh or store it in the fridge for later. Good for up to 4-5 days.
